Towing San Antonio Team Called in When Burning Axle’s Almost Melt Trailer
A Towing San Antonio team was desperately needed in Devine, TX. A truck driver was driving on the I-35 when he caught sight of every driver’s worst nightmare in his rearview mirrors. A fire had broken out on the rear axle and the driver was able to see flames starting to move up the trailer! Not wanting to put others at risk, the driver immediately pulled off the I-35 and onto a less busy access road.Once the fire was contained, it was obvious that the trailer was not going anywhere! The driver was transporting over 30,000 lb of beer. As it burned hot, the trailer began to melt under the extreme heat. While some of the pallets of beer were damaged, most of the kegs were saved! That’s a lot of game night’s saved as well!Mission Wrecker arrived on scene and immediately took control of the situation. The first task at hand was to move the beer from the broken down trailer to Mission Wrecker’s trailer in order to be able to tow the trailer. The teams used an extendable boom forklift for the majority of the pallets. For the pallets that had been damaged in the fire, they used good old-fashioned manpower! Once all the kegs had been moved into Mission Wrecker’s trailer, the team was able to focus on securing the trailer.Using a trailer dolly and some carefully placed chains, the Mission team was able to tow the burned out trailer backwards all the way to an impound lot in Devine. At the request of the insurance company, the kegs of beer were then placed back into the damaged trailer for the full insurance report.Fantastic work out there team! You must be thirsty after all that hard work!
